CIY Staff Tips:
- This project uses a hair dryer. Adult assistance is required.
Steps:
1
Unwrap the crayons you want to use to make your raindrops. Experiment with shades of pink and red!
2
Sharpen crayons into small shavings using a pencil sharpener.
3
Protect your surface. Then, sprinkle the shavings onto a piece of wax paper. Be sure to blend the coloured shavings!
4
Place another piece of wax paper over the top of your crayon shavings. Tape down the edges. Make sure to remove as many air bubbles as possible.
5
With adult supervision, use a hair dryer to melt the shavings until they form a colourful melted surface.
6
Wait for your melted crayons to cool before cutting heart shapes into your melted crayon and wax paper. Accent with Glitter Glue.
7
Use a hole punch to create the hole for the string.
