DIY Marble Maze

It's a-MAZE-ing! Create a DIY Marble Maze for game time at home using Crayola supplies and items you already have on hand.

Supplies:

  • Crayola Washable Paint
  • Crayola Paint Brush
  • Crayola Model Magic
  • Crayola Markers
Crayola Coloured Pencils
  • Crayola No-Run Washable School Glue
  • Paper Towel Roll
  • Scissors
  • Upcycled Shirt Box

CIY Staff Tips:

  • If you don’t have a shirt box on hand, any box with short sides will work.
  • Add other details or scenery around the track with coloured pencils.

Steps:

Step 1

Cut paper towel roll into 7 equal sections.

Step 2

Paint paper towel roll sections. Dry 1–2 hours.

Step 3

Roll Model Magic into ball approximately 1–2” in diameter. Dry overnight.

Step 4

On bottom of upcycled shirt box, draw outline of curvy track with markers.

Step 5

Color track with coloured pencils.

Step 6

Glue 6 paper towel roll sections to track, spaced out to create tunnels.

Step 7

Glue final paper towel roll section to corner of box. Dry 1–2 hours.

Step 8

Mark “Start” and “Finish” of maze.

Step 9

Place Model Magic ball at starting line. Pick up and lightly tilt box to manoeuvre ball along track and through tunnels.

Step 10

When finished, place ball in corner tube for storage.
