Supplies:

  • Crayola Crayons
  • Crayola Markers
  • Crayola Scissors
  • Crayola No-Run School Glue
  • Crayon or Pencil Sharpener
  • Duct Tape
  • Pencil
  • Wax Paper
  • Hair Dryer
  • Cardstock

  • This craft includes the use of a hair dryer. Adult assistance required.
  • A pencil sharpener will work if you don’t have a crayon sharpener on hand.

Steps:

Step 1

Unwrap 3–4 crayons, then use crayon sharpener to create shavings.

Step 2

Lay piece of wax paper on protected surface. Evenly sprinkle shavings onto wax paper.

Step 3

Place slightly larger piece of wax paper overtop. Seal edges with duct tape.

Step 4

With the help of an adult, use hair dryer to melt shavings. Let cool 15 minutes.

Step 5

Sketch 4 equal-sized hearts on wax paper. Cut out.

Step 6

Draw festive message and shamrock stem on cardstock with markers.

Step 7

Glue wax paper hearts around stem to complete shamrock. Dry 1–2 hours.
