Supplies:

  • Crayola Scissors
  • Crayola Washable Paint
  • Crayola Paint Brush
  • Crayola Construction Paper
  • Crayola School Glue
  • Crayola Metallic Markers
  • Paper Towel Rolls
  • Clear Tape
  • Wiggle Eyes

CIY Staff Tips:

  • Younger crafters may need adult assistance for some of the finer cutting details.
  • Create different creatures like a vampire, pumpkin, spider, or Frankenstein monster.

Steps:

Step 1

Cut paper towel roll in half.

Step 2

On one end, fold both sides of roll inward to create bat ears.

Step 3

Paint roll. Let dry 1–2 hours.

Accordion fold a piece of construction paper.

Step 5

Cut in half.

Step 6

Cut a small slit in side of roll.

Step 7

Pinch construction paper to flatten, and insert into slit.

Unfold and fan construction paper out. Tape to roll as bat wing.

Step 9

Repeat steps 7–8 for second wing.

Step 10

Glue wiggle eyes to roll.

Add mouth and fangs with marker.

Create any other creatures & display your decorations.
