Do you offer helpful tips for using the Glow Station?

1. Before using, remove the entire protective plastic film (not just the sticker) from the Glow Station canvas. The sticker is located on the clear film and will be removed when the entire plastic film is removed. It may be easier to remove the clear plastic film by starting at the bottom corner of the canvas. 2. Only the light wand should be used on the Glow Station canvas. Some versions of the Glow Station include a dry erase marker for use on an acetate sheet. Do not use the dry erase marker directly on the canvas as it may stain. If the marker is used on the canvas, wash off immediately with a damp cloth. 3. For best results, use the Glow Station in a dark room, holding the light wand close to the canvas. Since image brightness will diminish when exposed to light, simply turn on the lights for a few seconds to clear the images from the canvas.

Popular Questions

While the marker barrel and cap are recyclable, not all parts of the marker are. Because the marker components are securely sealed during the manufacturing process, we don’t recommend trying to remove the marker nib and reservoir. The marker caps can be recycled at facilities that accept #5 plastic.

All CRAYOLA Crayons are made from paraffin wax and colour pigment. The crayons vary slightly in weight due to the amount of colour pigment added to produce a particular colour as well as the density of the powder pigment itself. Certain colour pigments are very light while other pigments are very dense. It would not be accurate, however, to say that all dark crayons are heavier than other colours. You can test this by doing an experiment to see which Crayola Crayons float and which will sink.

Have questions about your Color Wonder Magic Light Brush? We have the answers! For Best Results: Always protect your work surface! If your set has a paint pot strip, it must be snapped into the base until it clicks for the Magic Light Brush to operate, with the power switch in the on” position. – The unit is on” when the switch is under the l. The O indicates off”. Check the brush tip to be sure it is tightened. To activate the light brush, hold the brush tip over a single paint pad/pot. Watch the bristles turn the colour of the paint inside. Dip the bristles into the colour you want and start painting on the colouring book page (a thin layer of paint works best). The brush tip will stay illuminated for approximately 10 seconds while it goes from paint to paper. Between each colour change, wipe the bristles with a dry paper towel. Be sure to snap on the paint covers after creating, to prevent paint from drying out. Battery Savers: To help preserve battery life, the Magic Light Brush will automatically turn off after 5 minutes if unused. To reactivate, push power switch to off” and then back on”. As we deepen our commitment to sustainability, we’re researching what programs will make the most significant impact and help us advance our sustainability goals, like our commitment to significantly reduce emissions from our business operations by 2030

We have already taken several steps to make our products and operations more sustainable by focusing our efforts on renewable energy and packaging initiatives.

  • Renewable Energy: The 20-acre solar farm on our Crayola campus in Pennsylvania provides the electricity to make 1 billion crayons, 700 million markers a year, and 120 million jars of paint.
  • Plastics Reduction: In the last 10 years, we’ve redesigned our broad line markers to save an estimated 2 million pounds of plastic versus its previous design.
  • Packaging: We make our marker Classpack packaging with 100% recycled cardboard. Starting in 2023, this packaging, along with crayon sleeves, will be made with natural cardboard instead of bleached cardboard, which will reduce C02e emissions by an estimated 100 metric tons per year.
  • Carbon Footprint: Crayola, through our parent company Hallmark, joined the Science Based Target initiative, a collaboration of global nonprofit organizations, businesses, and world governments that set goals to limit global warming to not exceed 1.5°C. To achieve this, participating organizations will need to reduce carbon emissions significantly by 2030. Crayola sources raw materials locally and manufactures many crayons and markers close to where they are used, which helps reduce the carbon footprint. In fact, Crayola has reduced CO2e emissions from our company-owned facilities’ direct and indirect energy sources by 82% since 2019, with investments in renewable energy, as well as efficiencies in our US manufacturing process. (Direct energy includes the gasoline, oil, natural gas, etc. used while indirect emissions are created when the energy is produced but not where it is used.)
  • Reforestation: Most Crayola coloured pencils are made from wood that is reforested in an 8,288 hectare pine farm in Brazil. Each year 300,000 seedlings are planted to restore the forest.

The basic ingredients in Crayola Markers are water and dye. A common experiment is to use paper chromatography to separate the dyes. When performing this experiment, you will find that not all Crayola Marker colours separate into different colours due to the nature of dyes utilized in creating marker colours. (Brown, violet and green markers work best). For example, only one dye is used to make our red colour marker, but a number of dyes are used to make our brown colour marker. In a chromatography experiment, the brown will separate into different colours; however, the red will not. A craft involving chromatography is available on our web site at chromatography craft.

Crayola Crayons are made primarily from paraffin wax and colour pigment. Paraffin wax is made especially for Crayola by companies who extract it from products like wood and coal. Pigments come from various sources. They can be natural or man made substances. Pigments can be found in the earth, minerals and/or made in laboratories. These raw materials are purchased from outside suppliers and are stored in our warehouse awaiting production. All of our raw materials are delivered by truck with the exception of paraffin wax, which is delivered in railroad cars. Further information is considered proprietary. If you need more information, please call us at (800) 2729652 weekdays between 9 AM and 4 PM Eastern Time. A representative will be happy to assist you.
