If your Crayola markers have become dry because the marker caps were left off for a brief time, we have some suggestions that may help! To revive water-based markers, such as Crayola regular, washable, or Ultra-Clean markers, you can try dipping the tip in warm water for about 5 seconds. After recapping the marker, we suggest waiting 24 hours before trying the marker again. If Crayola Gel Markers seem dry after remaining uncapped, try rubbing the marker back and forth on the drawing surface several times. If the marker still doesn’t work, replace the cap for 2 – 3 hours and then try using it again. If unsuccessful, you can dip the tip in warm water for about 5 seconds. After recapping the marker, wait 24 hours before attempting to use the marker again. Visi-Max Dry Erase Markers and Take Note! Dry Erase Markers are not water-based like traditional Crayola markers, and cannot be revived if they are allowed to dry out.

Where is the Scribble Scrubbie App available?
- Check for the the app on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Amazon App Store.
What kind of connection is required to use the app?
- A data connection (Wifi or cellular) is only required if you choose to make purchases within the app and to watch videos in the theatre. All other features work offline.
How do I unlock a new Scribble Scrubbie pet?
- PLAY: A new pet can be earned, along with other rewards, every time the reward meter at the top of the screen is filled. Activities like coloring, washing, feeding, taking photos, watching videos and playing with your Scribble Scrubbie pets will help fill the pet meter.All Scribble Scrubbie pets can be unlocked through play, no purchase necessary.
- SCAN UP: If you have a Scribble Scrubbie package, the UPC can be scanned or manually entered to immediately unlock all of the pets included in that product. Scan the UPC by visiting your pet collection and tap the “add pet” button in the top right to scan a UPC. If you are not able to scan the UPC, it can be entered manually in the “Parents” section of the app by scrolling down to the FAQ “How do I unlock a new Scribble Scrubbie?”. Keep in mind, unlocked pets may differ from those in the product you scanned. If you no longer have your Scribble Scrubbie package to scan, all 32 pets can still be unlocked through play.

What are pet upgrades and how do I get them?
- Upgraded pets have a visual effect added to them, such as glow and sparkles. Below are ways you can upgrade your pets.
- Scan your Scribble Scrubbie Pets UPC code on the package to immediately upgrade the pets in that set.
- Pets earned through play can be upgraded once all the base pets have been unlocked.
Can I save my photos?
- Yes! All Scribble Scrubbie photos in the photo gallery can be saved to your device locally. In the photo gallery simply tap the photo you want to save to make it bigger, then tap the “save to your device” button in the upper right corner. Pictures will be saved to your mobile device’s photo gallery.
Can I change my Scribble Scrubbie design?
- Absolutely! Scribble Scrubbie pets love to be washed and colored again and again! Simply tap your Scribble Scrubbie in the habitat to bring up the color or wash button. You can also color or wash your pet in the My Pets section of the app by tapping on any unlocked pet.
Will my progress in the app be saved on the cloud and accessible on multiple devices?
- To ensure privacy and security, all data is saved locally on your device. As a result, all user created content and user progress will be lost if this app is uninstalled and will not transfer from one device to another.

Crayola® Crayons are made using primarily paraffin wax and colour pigment. While the basic ingredients remain consistent across all colours, variations may occur in special effects crayons.
Our crayons are crafted through a process that involves melting paraffin wax and blending it with colour pigments. This mixture is then poured into molding machines where it solidifies in four to seven minutes. The basic ingredients in Crayola Markers are water and dye. A common experiment is to use paper chromatography to separate the dyes. When performing this experiment, you will find that not all Crayola Marker colours separate into different colours due to the nature of dyes utilized in creating marker colours. (Brown, violet and green markers work best). For example, only one dye is used to make our red colour marker, but a number of dyes are used to make our brown colour marker. In a chromatography experiment, the brown will separate into different colours; however, the red will not. A craft involving chromatography is available on our web site at chromatography craft.

We ask that you include the following required information in your letter:
- Date of your event
- If you require confirmation earlier than one month prior to your event, please provide us with a time frame needed to receive a response.

- What you would like to receive – i.e., door prize, art supplies for craft area, etc.
Please be advised that it may take up to three weeks for your request to be reviewed. Only organizations selected to receive a donation will be contacted.
Because Crayola Marker components are securely sealed during the manufacturing process, we don’t recommend trying to remove the marker nib and reservoir to recycle the barrel. The marker caps can be recycled at facilities that accept #5 plastic.

Your Crayola markers may have dried out if left uncapped. Below are some suggestions to help revive them.
1. Color-Change Doodle Markers:
- Replace the cap for 72 hours (about 3 days) before attempting to use it again.
2. Colour Wonder Markers:
- Not water-based and cannot be revived.
- Try wiping the nib clean, cap the marker, and store with the tip down overnight if left uncapped briefly.
3. Fine-Point and Ultra-Fine Point Doodle Markers:
- Cannot be revived as they are permanent marker inks.
4. Gel Markers:
- Rub the marker back and forth on the drawing surface.
- If still dry, replace the cap for 2 – 3 hours.
- Alternatively, dip the tip in warm water for about 5 seconds, recap, and wait 24 hours before trying again.
5. Non-Water-Based Markers (Project Metallic, Signature Blending, Signature Metallic Outline, Take Note! Dry Erase, Visi-Max Dry Erase):
- These markers cannot be revived once they have dried out.
6. Take Note! Gel Pens:
- Tap the tip against paper to engage and disengage the tip until writing comes back.
- If unsuccessful, the pen may be empty even if some ink appears to be remaining.
7. Water-Based Markers (Regular, Washable, Ultra-Clean, Dual-Ended Doodle, Washable No-Drip & Project Paint Brush Pens):
- Dip the tip in warm water for about 5 seconds.
- Recap the marker and wait 24 hours before using it again.

Scrub Under Running Water:
- Gently scrub your pet under running water after play. Use the scrub brush to help release the marker inks from the tiny fibers (flocking). Do not wash your Scribble Scrubbie Pets in the dishwasher or bathtub.
Allow to Dry:
- Allow your pets to dry before a second use. Colouring on damp pets can cause the ink to wick under the fibers, making the colour harder to rinse away. Let your pet air dry before storing it.
Soaking for Stubborn Stains:
- If colours persist after scrubbing under running water or have been on your pet for several days, consider soaking it in water for 20 minutes. For stubborn stains, an overnight soak may be necessary.
Additional Tips:
- Fresh colouring is easier to clean. Soap has little effect on cleaning your pets. Fresh colouring typically requires a rinse under the faucet, while concentrated colouring may require light scrubbing under a faucet or an overnight soak.
