Here's a chance for children to tip their top hats to their country's leaders and their own creativity while showing their patriotic colors.
Spread newspaper over your work area. Pour equal amounts of red and blue Crayola® Washable Kid's Paint into recycled foam produce trays.
Dip a star-shaped cookie cutter (or other symbol of your country) into red paint. Print stars on one side of a large piece of white construction paper. Wipe off cookie cutter with paper towels. Print more stars with blue paint. Dry.
With Crayola Scissors, round off the corners of colored construction paper to form a circle for the brim of the hat.
Roll the star paper into a cylinder. With a Crayola Glue Stick, attach the short ends together to create a top hat.
Cut 4 evenly spaced slits as long as your finger into the end of the rolled paper. Bend up flaps. Glue flaps to the brim to form your hat.
Decorate the stars and brim with Crayola Glitter Glue. Dry.
Punch two holes in the brim. Thread yarn through the holes attach ends with clear adhesive tape.
