Making their own toucan mascot reminds kids "you too can" do it. Children build confidence and self-esteem with the tools and encouragement to succeed.
Toucans are small birds with large, colorful beaks. Shape the toucan's head and body into an S with Crayola® Model Magic®. Tug slightly to form the tail and crown feathers.
Shape two wings with the modeling compound and attach to the body. Roll thin strips of Model Magic to decorate your toucan's wings.
To make soft pastel colors for the beak, mix Model Magic colors and white. Attach to the face.
Use a craft stick to shape feet and attach to the toucan. Add eyes and any other details with small pieces of Model Magic. Dry.
Use Crayola Washable Markers to draw eyes, cheeks, and other features.
For more fun, name your mascot and make a Model Magic platform or cage. Write a list of personal goals for school, sports, or hobbies to keep with your toucan. Check off items as you reach your goals.
