Paper Flower Valentines

Stop & smell the roses! Learn how to make rolled paper roses, then add them to this buzzworthy homemade Valentine’s Day card.





Supplies Needed: Crayola Scissors, Crayola No-Run Washable School Glue, Crayola Construction Paper, Crayola Take Note Permanent Markers, Crayola Paint Brush, Crayola Glitter Glue, Ribbon, No. 2 Pencil

CIY Staff Tip: This card also works for Mother’s Day! Change up the message for mom and give her a homemade greeting.



  • 1.

    Fold a piece of construction paper in half to make card shape. Cut a 2nd piece of construction paper to fit the front of card, leaving room for border. Paint on glue and attach to front of card.

  • 2.

    To create the flower, sketch a spiral on a new piece of construction paper & cut it out.

  • 3.

    To create the rose shape, slowly and gently coil the paper from inside to outside edge.

  • 4.

    Add glue to end of coil and secure to card. Repeat steps 2-4 for additional flowers.

  • 5.

    Use Crayola glitter glue to create the flower stems.

  • 6.

    Tie festive ribbon into bow and glue to stems. Let all glue steps dry 3–4 hours.

  • 7.

    Add embellishments with construction paper and messages with markers.

  • 8.

    Give the bee-utiful card to your valentine!
