Paper flowers bloom before your eyes! Celebrate Spring with these lovely Paper Hyacinths made with Crayola Construction Paper!
To make flower petals, cut a piece of pink construction paper lengthwise into 2-inch wide strips.
Draw a straight line across the length of each strip, about ½ inch from the top. Make cuts from the bottom of the strip up to the line, making strips about every ¼ inch.
Roll strips around a Paint Brush so that they curl up.
To make stems, cut strips as in Step 1 using green paper this time. Cover entire strip with Glue Stick, and starting with the top corner of the strip, roll the paper diagonally onto itself, creating a thin, long stem.
Add glue to the uncurled portion of your pink strip (with curls facing out). Starting at the top of the stem, wrap the petal around the stem working your way down until it is fully attached.
To make leaves, measure a 2 inch x 3 inch rectangle of Construction Paper. Fold it accordion style and cut on an angle. Glue the bottom of the paper and wrap around the stem to form a leaf.
