DIY Chalkboard Paint Planter

Crayola chalkboard paint planters

Brighten up your plant life by creating your own colourful chalkboard paint to decorate flower pots or garden markers!

Supplies Needed: Crayola Acrylic Paint, Crayola School Chalk, Crayola Paint Brushes, Baking Soda, Water, Mixing bowl, Flower pot or wooden spoon

  • 1.

    Add 2 Tbsp of baking soda to 1 Tbsp of water and mix completely to create a paste.

  • 2.

    Combine 2 oz of Crayola Acrylic Paint with the baking soda mixture and stir to combine until smooth. Experiment with different colours of paint!

  • 3.

    Use Crayola Paint Brushes to apply paint to a flower pot. Apply a second coat of paint once the first coat has dried. To make a garden marker, paint the top half of a wooden spoon.

  • 4.

    Once the paint has dried completely, write a message or draw a design using Crayola School Chalk.

  • 5.

    If you’d like to change your original drawing, use a damp paper towel to remove the chalk. Wait until the surface is dry, and create again!
