Bring all of the colors of the rainbow together in a spinning wheel of color. Spin fast—or slowly! Experiment with color science.
Trace a paper plate on white posterboard with Crayola Colored Pencils. Use Crayola Scissors to carefully cut out the circle. With a ruler, draw lines to divide the circle into eight sections, like a pie.
An adult can help punch a hole in the center of the circle using a pencil point or closed pointed-tip scissors.
Color sections with your favorite Crayola Crayons, Colored Pencils, or Markers, one color in each section.
Insert a colored pencil in the center hole and tape in place.
Twirl the pencil between your palms to spin the spinner so the colors mix. What do you see? Create spinners with different color combinations. Spin at different speeds! What different effects can you create?
