A great craft for the whole family! Create a decorative family pumpkin by having each member of the family add their own unique leaf.
Use a white craft pumpkin or a real pumpkin. If a real pumpkin or an orange craft pumpkin is used, then paint the pumpkin white with Crayola® Acrylic Paint. Allow to air-dry.
Use real leaves or leaf templates found on the internet. Trace the leaves onto thin paper from a Crayola Doodle Pad or newsprint paper. Cut out the leaves with a Crayola Scissor.
Color the leaves with Crayola Washable Markers in autumn colors.
Make a glue wash. Put 2 tablespoons of water and 1 tablespoon of Crayola Washable No-Run School Glue into a shallow dish and use a craft stick to mix. Place a colored leaf into the mixture and let it sit a few seconds to absorb the liquid and dilute the marker colors. Make a new glue wash for each leaf.
Place the moistened leaf onto the pumpkin and use a finger to smooth out any air bubbles. Use a paper towel to wipe away any drips or excess liquid. Continue to add leaves until you are happy with the design. Allow to air-dry.
Tie a complementary ribbon, raffia or both around the stem of the pumpkin.
